Flash or not to Flash: that is the question
Looking at Adobe Flash, to see if and why you might have it on your website. Including a quick overview on the pros and cons.
Should you have Adobe Flash content on a website or not, well let me go over some of the pros and cons about Adobe Flash for a website.
Pros:
• Add style to web pages and make content more visual
• More flexible animation
• Better audio/video interface compared to standard audio/video steaming
• High Pixilation then .GIF file formats
• Harder to be copied
Cons:
• Not search engine friendly as they cannot read the code
• Requires extra software to be installed/updated
• Currently cannot be views via Apple iPhone/ITouch/iPad
• Harder to design/edit
• Can slow down websites if large Flash files are used compared to normal pages.
In short Adobe Flash is great to add a bit of life to your website but my suggestion would be not to over load a site with Flash, or to have completely Flash site. Use it to add that extra effect and visual/audio interface but keeping a friendly look to your site.
